This miniature sized vanadinite crystals exhibits tabular forms with good lustre and is a real beauty. The main crystals features the reddish core colour with gemmy yellow to orange highlights and sits on well formed barite . This very aesthetic miniature specimen will make a great addition to a collection.
Vanadinite is a mineral belonging to the apatite group of phosphates. It is one of the main industrial ores of the metal vanadium and a minor source of lead. It is usually found as a dense, brittle mineral in the form of red hexagonal crystals.
The lead and vanadium in the vanadinite can be harmful if absorbed into the blood stream by inhalation or ingestion. The crystals are completely safe to display and will not pose any hazard but we suggest washing your hands after handling.
