This striking piece of natural Moldavite has a compact, sculptural form with a pronounced pointed crest, giving it a characterful silhouette that changes noticeably from every angle. The specimen displays a beautiful olive-green colour with areas of deeper green, strong natural surface texture and translucent sections that allow light to reveal the glass-like interior. Moldavite is often associated with transformation, new beginnings and personal growth, making this a meaningful piece for someone embracing change or looking for a physical reminder of a new chapter.
The appeal of this specimen is its distinctive three-dimensional shape and dramatic contrast between its lighter translucent areas and darker textured surfaces. One face is relatively smooth and translucent, while the reverse and edges display the deeply textured, naturally sculpted character that makes rough Moldavite so fascinating. The pointed upper section gives it an almost miniature sculptural quality, making it particularly enjoyable to display or examine from different angles. Its compact size also makes it suitable as a personal keepsake, a collector's specimen, or a potential custom jewellery piece.
For someone drawn to the symbolism of Moldavite, this little specimen carries a fitting message: transformation does not have to be large to be meaningful — sometimes a small reminder is enough to mark a new beginning.

What is Moldavite?
Moldavite is a rare type of natural impact glass belonging to the tektite family. Unlike ordinary glass, Moldavite was created by an extraordinary meteorite impact and is recognised for its characteristic green colour, natural sculpted textures and fascinating connection to one of Earth's most remarkable impact events.
Although Moldavite is associated with a meteorite impact, it is not a meteorite itself. It formed primarily from terrestrial rocks and sediments that were melted and transformed during the impact before being ejected and
How Did Moldavite Form?
Approximately 14.75 million years ago, a large meteorite struck what is now southern Germany, creating the enormous Nördlinger Ries impact crater. The tremendous energy released by the impact melted and vaporised rocks at the impact site, sending molten material high into the atmosphere.
As these molten droplets travelled through the atmosphere, they cooled rapidly and fell back to Earth across parts of Central Europe. This extraordinary process created the natural green impact glass known as Moldavite.
The distinctive shapes, sculpted surfaces and delicate textures found on Moldavite are a record of this incredible journey from a meteorite impact to the formation of a rare natural glass.
So, when you hold a piece of Moldavite, you are holding a material that formed approximately 14.75 million years ago during a meteorite impact — a remarkable connection between Earth and the cosmos.
The Meaning of Moldavite
Moldavite has developed a strong symbolic meaning in modern crystal traditions and is often associated with transformation, growth, renewal and new beginnings.
Many people are drawn to Moldavite as a symbolic reminder of change and personal transformation. These meanings are part of spiritual and crystal traditions rather than scientifically established properties, but they have become an important part of the modern fascination with this unusual stone.
Whether you appreciate Moldavite for its symbolism, its rarity, its extraordinary geological history, or its extraterrestrial connection, it offers a remarkable story unlike that of almost any other gemstone.
This is more than a beautiful green stone. It is a natural piece of impact glass created during a meteorite event nearly 15 million years ago.
Add this unique piece of Czech Moldavite to your collection and own a small fragment of one of Earth's most fascinating cosmic events.
