Globidens represents one of the most fascinating evolutionary experiments among mosasaurs. Rather than pursuing fast-moving fish, it carved out its own ecological niche by specialising in heavily armored prey.

Its teeth were rounded, robust, and incredibly dense — built to withstand repeated high-impact crushing. This allowed Globidens to exploit food sources unavailable to other marine reptiles.

The phosphate deposits of the Oulad Abdoun Basin preserve some of the finest mosasaur material in the world. However, mining damage means intact teeth are increasingly rare.
