This striking specimen from Namibia's renowned Erongo Region features a beautifully formed double-terminated Black Tourmaline (Schorl) crystal resting on a contrasting Feldspar matrix. Combining strong aesthetics with an uncommon crystal habit, this piece is an excellent example of why Erongo has become one of the world's most celebrated localities for fine mineral specimens.
The specimen is dominated by a lustrous black tourmaline crystal displaying sharp, well-defined terminations at both ends. Double-terminated tourmaline crystals are considerably less common than their single-terminated counterparts, making specimens like this especially desirable among collectors. The crystal exhibits attractive natural striations along its prism faces and possesses a rich vitreous lustre that enhances its bold appearance.
Surrounding the main crystal are smaller black tourmaline crystals nestled within creamy-white Feldspar, creating a dramatic contrast that highlights the geometry and colour of the Schorl. The composition is balanced and visually appealing from multiple viewing angles, making it an ideal display piece despite its compact size.
Sourced from the mineral-rich pegmatites of the Erongo Region, this specimen represents a classic Namibian association and offers both mineralogical interest and strong display quality.
