Drifting through prehistoric oceans more than 110 million years ago, this extraordinary White Spine Ammonite once belonged to an ancient marine cephalopod known as Cleoniceras. During the Early Cretaceous Period, these fascinating creatures thrived in warm tropical seas while giant dinosaurs still dominated the land.

This Madagascan specimen displays the classic spiral shell and beautifully preserved ribbed chamber structure that make ammonites some of the world’s most admired fossils. Natural mineralisation over millions of years has created soft cream and sandy tones, while subtle darker mineral inclusions add character and texture throughout the fossil. The side profile reveals the impressive depth and shape of the shell, giving this piece a wonderfully three-dimensional appearance.
