This authentic, large Cambropallas telesto Trilobite fossil comes from the fossil-rich Jbel Wawrmast Formation of the Anti-Atlas Mountains in Morocco, an important source of spectacular Middle Cambrian trilobites. The History of Cambropallas Telesto

Cambropallas telesto was a large marine trilobite that lived during the Middle Cambrian, roughly half a billion years ago. Fossils of the species are particularly associated with the Jbel Wawrmast Formation in Morocco, including the Jbel Ougnate region of the eastern Anti-Atlas. Geological studies identify Cambropallas telesto from fossil-bearing levels within this formation, making the Moroccan Anti-Atlas an especially important region for studying these large Cambrian arthropods.

Trilobites were extinct marine arthropods belonging to the class Trilobita. Their bodies were divided into three principal regions: the cephalon, or head; the segmented thorax; and the pygidium, or tail section. Their name refers to the characteristic three-lobed arrangement of the body. In Cambropallas, this architecture is particularly impressive because of the animal's large size and broad, substantial form.

During the Cambrian Period, marine arthropods underwent remarkable diversification as complex ecosystems developed in the ancient oceans. The fossil-rich Middle Cambrian deposits of Morocco preserve exceptionally large trilobites, and the Cambropallas telesto beds are among the notable horizons yielding these spectacular fossils.
