The Mosasaur – Predators of the Cretaceous Seas

Mosasaurs were large marine reptiles that flourished in the oceans during the Cretaceous Period. Although they lived at the same time as dinosaurs, mosasaurs were not dinosaurs. They belonged to the squamate reptiles, placing them within the broader evolutionary group that also includes modern monitor lizards and snakes.
