This specimen is of Chrysocolla coated with druzy quartz, contrasted with green Malachite on matrix. The vibrant colours and great contrast makes this piece special. The colours, formations and mineralisation on the piece is good with small botryoidal clusters.
This piece is from a small recent pocket at the Tenke Fungurume Mine, a fairly new open pit mine that started operation in 2009 after construction started in 2006. It is one of the largest producers of copper and cobalt.
